An RCMP officer’s sidearm that had been stolen in a 2019 break-in in Winnipeg was recovered at a Lac du Bonnet hotel on Monday, March 20, 2023.
Police say that they executed a search warrant at the hotel after learning that a male was possibly in possession of a firearm. During the search, officers found a semi-automatic handgun.
A 35-year-old male was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with Possession of Weapons Contrary to Court Order, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm, Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Crime Unsafe Storage of a Firearm and two counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order.
