Traffic stop leads RCMP to a residence finding “extensive list” of stolen goods

Early this morning, August 16, 2018, RCMP in Portage la Prairie stopped a vehicle on 8th Street NW. A search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding 26 grams of Methamphetamine, several prohibited weapons and drug paraphernalia.

As investigators looked into the case they requested a search warrant for a residence on 8th Street NW. Officers discovered more than 15 bicycles, a motorcycle, various electronics, more weapons and drug paraphernalia.

33-year-old Dexter Roulette from Portage la Prairie was charged for his alleged involvement with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and numerous other Criminal Code charges.

Two females, aged 49 and 25, were also arrested but were both released on a promise to appear.

Roulette was detained in custody and expected to appear in a Winnipeg court today.
