Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to a duplex on Stella Avenue at around 7:51 am Saturday for the report of a fire.
Heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure greeted firefighters as they arrived on the scene. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 8:21 am.
Everyone inside the structure safely evacuated before emergency crews arrived on the scene. No injuries were reported.
The fire was contained to one suite. Occupants of the unaffected suite were able to return home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
