RCMP in Steinbach have arrested a 17-year-old male from the RM of DeSalaberry after he was allegedly involved in a home invasion.

It happened on Monday, February 18, 2019, just after 9:00 pm. Police say two males, one armed with a gun, forced their way into an apartment on Loewan Boulevard in Steinbach. One of the males made “serious threats” towards two of the people inside the suite.

Police say no one was injured and the firearm was not discharged.

Investigators believe that the incident was not random and the apartment was targeted by the suspects.

Police have charged one of the two males with:

•  Breaking and Entering
•  Careless Use of a Firearm
•  Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purposes
• Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
• Assault with a Weapon
• Assault
• Uttering Threats x 3

Investigators are still looking for the second suspect and are asking anyone who may have information regarding the identity of the person involved to contact them at 204-326-4452 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
