The town of Ste Anne, 50 kilometres east of Winnipeg is mourning the loss of a young girl who was hit by a train Friday afternoon, September 15, 2017.
The 11-year-old girl was riding her bicycle along the train tracks that run through the town when she was hit and killed by a passing train. Reports say the girl was wearing headphones at the time of the collision but Ste. Anne police say there is no evidence to confirm that.
Police say they do not know if the girl was actually on the tracks or beside them when the tragedy occurred.
CN Rail Police are assisting Ste Anne Police in the investigation surrounding the tragic incident.
