Manitoba has extended the state of emergency for another 30 days as the province continues to live with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The state of emergency allows the government to take quick action to support efforts related to the pandemic. The special powers were first declared on March 20, 2020, but was further extended on April 18, May 17, June 15, July 14, Aug. 12 and Sept. 10.
The current extension took effect at 4:00 pm October 9 and will expire November 10, 2020, unless it is once again extended. It is likely the state of emergency will continue to be extended for the foreseeable future.
