Stabbing victim finds help from officers guarding homicide scene

Winnipeg police say that around 1:00 am this morning a male approached police guarding a homicide scene near Ellice Avenue and Kennedy Street. The male was suffering from stab wounds.

Officers immediately provided first-aid and called paramedics who transported the 47-year-old victim to hospital in unstable condition.

Police say the stabbing incident was not related to the homicide investigation. The victim was not able to provide any information about the suspect who stabbed him or details of the assault.

Members from the Major Crimes Unit are investigating. Anyone with information are asked to call (204)986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-8477.
