Double stabbing on Magnus Avenue had Winnipeg Police busy in the early morning hours Thursday.

Around 4:00am, police got a report of an assault in the  500 block of Magnus Avenue 

Police arrived but the victim was not there. They then get a call to the 600 block of Magnus where they located a 34 year old male who had been stabbed in the upper body area.  Police believe the victim had been walking in the 500 block of Magnus Avenue when he was confronted by 2 males, and stabbed.  The victim then walked to the 600 block of Magnus Avenue, where he collapsed. He was transported to hospital in critical condition.

While officers were on scene, a second stabbing was reported at approximately 4:10 am, back at the original call location in the 500 block of Magnus Avenue.

Officers found a 32 year old male victim had also been stabbed.   The second victim had observed the first assault in the 500 block of Magnus Avenue.  He was then confronted by the same suspects, and stabbed in the upper body area.  He was transported to hospital in unstable condition.   

General Patrol and Canine units located and arrested two adult male suspects in the area shortly after the second stabbing.

The investigation is continuing.
