Stabbing Incident on Main Street: Police Seek Public’s Help

At approximately 5:00 p.m. on August 15, 2024, Central District General Patrol officers responded to a distress call on the 600 block of Main Street. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female suffering from multiple upper-body injuries.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service swiftly transported the victim to the hospital, where she was initially listed in unstable condition. Fortunately, her condition was later upgraded to stable.

Investigations revealed that the victim, who was visiting family from out of town, was walking near the Main Street underpass when she was approached by an unknown female. The two women proceeded to a nearby hotel, where the suspect, armed with a knife, assaulted and robbed the victim of her cell phone.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and is urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be provided to the Major Crimes Unit at 204-986-6219 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS or winnipegcrimestoppers.org.
