Stabbing a case of mistaken identity, say police

Winnipeg Police investigators have arrested and charged a 31-year-old male and a 31-year-old female in connection to a stabbing on Tuesday afternoon, May 12, 2020.

Police were called to the area after a male boarded a Winnipeg Transit bus after being stabbed.

Investigators say that the 24-year-old victim had been confronted by two suspects in a case of mistaken identity. During a physical altercation with the suspects the victim was stabbed. The victim fled onto the bus where he was stabbed a second time.

Police say the victim and the suspects did not know each other.

Both suspects were detained in custody.

The male faces charges for his alleged involvement of Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon, Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition.

The female was charged for her alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault.
