St. Norbert early morning blaze sends smoke and sparks high into the air

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to an early morning fire in St. Norbert on Saturday, November 23, 2019.

Crews were called to the area of Le Marie Street and Gendreau Avenue around 1:48 am.

When firefighters arrived they found two buildings fully involved with flames and smoke shooting into the air.

A defensive attack was launched.

Water had to be trucked in to replenish the pumpers as there were no hydrants in the area of the fire.

Crews were on scene most of the morning

There were no reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
