Firefighters were called to a fire in a vehicle repair shop in the 700 block of St. Joseph Street at 11:39 pm on Saturday, October 17, 2021, for the report of a fire.
When crews arrived they were greeted with heavy smoke in the neighbourhood and flames and smoke coming from the structure.
A defensive attack was launched in the rear of the structure until it was safe for crews to move inside and transition to an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control at 12:28 am
A search of the building confirmed no one was inside the building at the time of the blaze. A burned out vehicle could be seen sitting inside the building after crews took down the garage door so they could fight the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
