An early morning fire in the St. James Hotel on Portage Avenue on Tuesday morning has sent one person to hospital in stable condition.
Fire crews were called to the scene, less than a block away from the fire station, around 5:oo am May 9, 2017 as heavy smoke billowed from the second floor.
The building was evacuated as crews battled the blaze.
There is no report on the cause of the fire or how much damage was caused.
Westbound traffic was blocked on Portage while fire crews were on scene.
