The more than 50-year-old St James Civic Centre is set to get a major expansion and renovation thanks to funding from all levels of government.
On Friday, July 30, 2021 the federal government announced that they would be investing $5.2 million into the project which already has commitments from the province for $4.4 million and the City of Winnipeg for $3.5 million.
The funding will allow the project to move forward with building new multi-purpose program and meeting rooms, a community kitchen, improvements to the auditorium, main entry and washrooms and the construction of dedicated administration space for St. James Assiniboia 55+.
