Firefighters shuttle water to battle St. Anne’s Road fire

An early morning fire outside the City of Winnipeg water district forced crews to shuttle water in order to fight the blaze. It happened around 5:30 am on Monday, September 30, 2019.

The one-and-a-half storey home in the 1600 block of St. Anne’s Road south of the Perimeter Highway had heavy flames and smoke coming out of the roof as emergency crews arrived.

An offensive attack was launched an the fire was declared under control about two and a half hours later.

The people in the home at the time of the blaze were able to get themselves out of the building before firefighters arrived on scene.

The home suffered significant damages as a result from water, smoke and flames.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
