Springs church issued summons over graduation

Manitoba enforcement officials issued 96 warnings and 108 tickets between June 7 and June 13.

95 $1,296 tickets were handed out to individuals of which 90 were related to gatherings in private residences or outdoors. Four were issued for failing to self-isolate and one to a sole proprietorship.

Seven $298 tickets were issued to people for failing to wear a mask in an indoor public place.

Two businesses received $5,000 fines.

Enforcement officials also issued a summons to Springs Church in Winnipeg for breaches to public health orders related to a graduation on or about May 20, 2021.

On Friday June 11, Maxime Bernier, leader of the People’s Party of Canada was arrested after he allegedly failed to follow public health orders by attending gatherings in Niverville and St-Pierre-Jolys and failing to self-isolate as required. He was later released from custody with conditions and will appear in court at a later date.
