Springfield Police Service former and current officers facing charges after a discharge of a firearm

Two officers from Springfield Police Service are facing criminal code charges for careless use of a firearm and obstruct justice following an investigation by the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU).

The investigation was initiated after an allegation was made that a firearm was carelessly discharged inside the detachment office earlier this year..

Springfield Police Service officer Cst. Jesse Zillman and Tyler Froese (former officer) have each received a summons to attend court on December 6, 2022, to answer the charges.
