Spring storm set to bring snow and cold back to Manitoba

If you thought we were done with winter you have a surprise in store! A Spring storm developing over Alberta will track into Manitoba on Monday bringing with it snow and lots of it in parts of the province.

In the north, accumulations could be as high as 25 cm and high winds gusting 70 km/h will bring reduced visibilities.

In Southern Manitoba you can expect temperatures to rise into the upper teens by Monday afternoon ahead of the storm front but will quickly drop to the minus teens by Monday evening into Tuesday morning.

Moderate to heavy snow flurry activity can be expected which may start out as rain showers before changing to snow as temperatures drop. In the south, including Winnipeg, snowfall amounts will be in the 2 to 4 cm range. In the Interlake accumulation could be as high as 10 cm.

Blowing snow will reduce visibilities to near zero at time and travel is expected to be hazardous late Monday into Tuesday.

Environment Canada says that conditions will improve on Tuesday as the storm tracks into Ontario.
