Emergency crews responded to a shooting in the 500 block of Spence Street around 11:30 pm on Saturday, May 21, 2022.

When officers arrived, shell casings could be seen in front of several homes. A male victim was found suffering from serious injuries and transported to hospital in critical condition. His current condition is unknown according to police.

As the investigation unfolded officers were seen searching the street and marking shell casings while other officers looked for bullet holes in nearby homes.

Police cordoned off Spence Street between Sargent Avenue and half way down the block towards Ellice Avenue for several hours over night as they investigated the shooting.

Police continue to investigate.
