Speed limit drops to improve safety on designated roads

Manitoba is lowering the speed limits on some provincial roads to improve safety, Infrastructure Minister Ron Schuler announced on Friday, October 30, 2020.

Speed reductions are slated for Niverville, Headingley and Springfield.

“The proposed speed reductions will improve the level of safety on Manitoba’s roadways,” said Schuler.

Provincial Road 206 will see the speed limit reduced to 70 km/h for 300 metres on both sides of Garven Road (PR 213) in the RM of Springfield.

Speeds will drop to 70 km/h on PR 24 and PR 334 between the Perimeter Highway and Taylor Bridge in the RM of Headingley.

In the Town of Niverville the 70 km/h speed limit will be extended on the west side of town by 200 metres past Krahn Road and east of town by 50 metres past Sixth Avenue.
