After suspending school zone speed enforcement on March 23, 2020 due to the suspension of schools and closures of playgrounds the Winnipeg Police Service announced they will be resuming enforcement on June 1, 2020.
Under Phase 2 of the reopening plan schools will be reopening on Monday in a limited capacity.
Police say that they expect an increase in children around schools and playgrounds and will be resuming enforcement along with the photo enforcement unit in reduced speed school zones.
