Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit investigators say that the killing at a Bannatyne Avenue night club on November 2, 2019 was connected to the murder two days later in South Pointe.
Jamshid Wahabi, 23 was shot and killed inside Citizen Nightclub at the corner of Princess Street and Bannatyne Avenue. A second person was also shot in the lower body but survived.
On November 4, 2019, 20-year-old Rig Moulebou was shot and killed inside an Airbnb on Tim Sale Drive.
At the time of Moulebou’s homicide police said they believed both shootings were gang-related and were looking for a connection between them.
Police say that investigators have determined that the shooter in the nightclub was Moulebou and that he was responsible for the murder of Wahabi. They believe that the murder of Moulebou was in retaliation .
Police say that there is an ongoing feud between two gangs that is also responsible for other violence in the city,
Three people have been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder in connection to Moulebou’s killing.
Arnold Mbaka Nduta, Abdullahi Abdulrehman Mohamed and Manuchehr Haroon all 23-years-old have been charged for their alleged involvement.
Police are continuing to investigate and are looking for information about a black truck and a black Mercedes crossover that were seen in the area on Tim Sale Drive when Moulebou was murdered.
