South Indian Lake male likely died from exposure say police

RCMP in South Indian Lake are investigating the death of a 26-year-old male.

Police say they were called to a home in the community for a disturbance around 6:30 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2020. Officers were told the male was trying to get inside the residence.

By the time officers arrived on the scene the male had fled on foot. A search of the community that night and on Friday were unsuccessful.

Just after 10:00 pm on January 31st the body of the male was found on the shore of South Island about five kilometres from the community.

An autopsy has been ordered but police say they do not believe a crime was involved in the death.

The investigation continues.
