Some Manitobans still choose to violate public health orders

After more than a year of the province enforcing public health orders surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, some Manitobans continue to thumb their nose at restrictions and put people at risk.

Between March 29 and April 4, 2021, enforcement officers issued 42 warnings and 26 tickets for public health order infractions.

23 people were issued $1,296 tickets of which 15 were related to gatherings in private residences or outdoors. Two people were ticketed $298 for failure to wear a mask in an indoor public place and one person violated the federal quarantine act and was ticketed $5,150.

The province is encouraging Manitobans to continue to report scofflaws online at www.manitoba.ca/COVID19 or by phone at (204) 945-3744 or 1-866-626-4862 (toll-free).
