Soldier based at CFB Shilo charged with sexual assault after incident at “social event”

The Canadain Forces National Investigation Service (CFNIS) have charged a soldier based at CFB Shilo with sexual assault and two counts of behaving in a disgraceful manner which is a charge laid under the National Defence Act.

Investigators say the member of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) was charged on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, for an alleged incident that happened at what is being described as a “social event” in December of 2016.

Military investigators have not said when the soldier will face a possible court-martial but did say the charges will be heard under the military justice system.
