Snowmobile collision claims one life in Duck Mountain Provincial Park

RCMP are investigating a collision between a snowmobile and a semi-truck in Duck Mountain Provincial Park.

Police say the collision occurred around 3:45 pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, on a logging road inside the park.

Two snowmobiles were heading north on the road when one of the snowmobiles collided with a southbound semi.

The 16-year-old male driver of the snowmobile was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, a 32-year-old male, was not injured.

The other snowmobile operator, a 17-year-old male, was not involved in the crash.

Police say that they do not believe alcohol played a factor in the collision.
