Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the City of Winnipeg.
Snow is expected to begin to fall over southern Manitoba Friday afternoon, January 17, 2020, and continue until late Saturday afternoon.
According to the weather forecaster accumulations of 10 to 20 cm are expected.
Expect reduced visibility, especially outside the city, as winds gusting up to 60 km/h will create near whiteout conditions at times when combined with heavy snow.
For their part, the City of Winnipeg says they are watching the weather conditions and have crews on standby ready to deal with the forecasted snow.
Crews will be plow and sand as conditions require.
