Snow clearing operation underway in Winnipeg

The first significant snowfall of the season saw between 10 to 15 cm fall in Winnipeg with higher amounts in some areas in southern Manitoba.

With large amounts of snow on the ground, the city has begun a major city-wide snow clearing operation. Crews will be clearing streets, sidewalks, active transportation pathways, and back lanes based on a priority system. Under the priority system areas are cleared as follows: Priority 1 (P1) – regional streets or major routes; Priority 2 (P2) – bus routes and collector streets; and then Priority 3 (P3) – residential streets.

You can check on the progress of the snow clearing operation by accessing the interactive snow clearing status map .

There are no winter parking bans in effect at this time.
