After ventilating the structure people were allowed to return to their homes except for the residents in five suites. WFPS say that one suite suffered significant fire, smoke and water damage and four others suffered extensive water damage.

The residents who were unable to return to their suites were relocated by the company that manages the building.

WFPS says that the cause of the fire was determined to be the careless disposal of smoking materials.

The fire service says that it is important to take proper care and ensure all butts and ashes are out before putting them in the trash.

There is no cost estimate for the damage caused.
