RCMP in Thompson took a large cache of drugs, illegal cigarettes and cash from a 50-year-old Winnipeg man during a traffic stop in the northern city on February 1, 2019.
Police say that shortly after 9:00 pm they pulled a vehicle over on Churchill Drive in Thompson as part of an ongoing investigation.

Officers searched the suspect and his vehicle and found 186 flaps of crack/cocaine, more than 1900 pills of which 387 were oxycodone and 326 were codeine. 41 grams of cannabis, a large
Mounties also recovered a large amount of Canadian currency.
Paul Kettler, 50, from Winnipeg, was charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (x5)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Possession for the Purpose of Selling under the Cannabis Act
- Transport and Delivery of Unstamped Tobacco
- Possession of Unstamped Tobacco under the Excise Act
- Possession of Unstamped Tobacco under the Tobacco Act
RCMP continue to investigate.
