Two men are facing charges after allegedly firing shot into a bus with six people inside.
Cross Lake RCMP were called around 3:15 am on Saturday, August 9, 2021, for reports of gunshots. When officers arrived on the scene that located six people who had been injured.
Police say that the six injured were part of a group that were having a gathering inside an old bus in the north end of Pimicikamak (Cross Lake) when another group wanted to enter the bus. The group inside the bus denied them entry at which point shots were fired into the bus.
The shooting caused injure to six males, two aged 12, a 13-year-old and three adults aged 29,39 and 44. The 13-year-old was transported to a Winnipeg hospital for treatment.
Officers found the second group of individuals and arrested two males in connection to the shooting.
Marcus North, age 24 and 23-year-old Morrison North were charged for their alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault, Assault with Weapon x5, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Using a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence, Careless Use of a Firearm, and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.
Both men have been detained in custody.
