Single-vehicle collision leaves a path of destruction behind it, driver arrested

Winnipeg Police are investigating a single-vehicle collision that happened around 11:00 pm on Sunday, September 4, 2022, on St. Anne’s Road near Hull Avenue.

Witness tell News 4 that a black Cadillac was travelling southbound on St. Anne’s Road “extremely fast” when it hopped the curb, clipped a light standard, and sheared off a fire hydrant. The car then continued along the boulevard, crashing into the side of a bank then travelling over a second boulevard, a roadway, a third boulevard into a private parking lot and colliding with a parked SUV before coming to a stop.

The vehicle was registered in Ontario

The adult male driver was assessed at the scene by paramedics. Once cleared he was taken into custody, placed in handcuffs and taken to a waiting police cruiser.
