UPDATED
RCMP are investigating two incidents that happened in Duck Bay, Manitoba less than 14 hours apart.
On Saturday, October 2, 2021, police received a report of shots fired in the community around 2:40 pm. When officers arrived on the scene they located and arrested a 48-year-old female. Officers seized a rifle. As the investigation unfolded they determined that a fight had occurred between multiple people. A second 49-year-old female was also arrested for her role in the altercation.
Both accused were charged then released pending a court appearance.
At 4:30 am on Sunday, October 3, police were called to a fire at home in Duck Bay. The building was complete loss. The residence belonged to the second female who had been arrested in the earlier incident. She was still in custody at the time of the fire. Investigators say that the fire is suspicious in nature and the investigation is continuing.
Editor’s note – RCMP released more information regarding the altercation and noted that it involved multiple individuals. Originally they had said it only involved the two accused.
