Winnipeg Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 400 block of Bannerman Avenue around 11:30pm on September 18, 2016.
Multiple police units from two districts including Tactical Support Team members responded.
Officers entered and found a fully loaded shotgun in a residence in the 400 block of Bannerman Avenue. Police learned that the gun had been discharged in the backyard multiple times. No one was hurt and no property was damaged when the gun was fired.
Joshua Goertzen, 20 was arrested and charged with the following offences for his alleged involvement:
– Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
– Careless Use of Firearm
– Careless Storage of Firearm
– Possession of Weapon
– Discharge Firearm in a Reckless Manner
He was detained in custody.
