    The Sherburn Street suspicious death News 4 first told you about over the weekend is being investigated as a homicide.

    Officers were called to a home in the 700 block near Ellice Avenue around 4:30 pm on Friday, July 29, 2022, for the report of a deceased male.

    Police spent Friday night and most of Saturday gathering evidence at the residence. An autopsy on the victim was performed on Sunday, according to the WPS duty office.

    Investigators have identified the victim as 74-year-old James Monaghan.

    Police say that there are suspicious circumstances that surround the incident and ask anyone with information to contact detectives at (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-8477.
