Sexual offender to live in Winnipeg after release from jail

Manitoba’s Integrated High Risk Sex Offender Unit released information that a convicted sexual offender was released from Brandon Correctional Centre today and will be living in Winnipeg.

48-year-old Marcel Hank Charlette, also known as Hank Marcel Caribou, Hank Charlette, Peewee, Bald Eagle, had been serving a sentence for breaching conditions of his recognizance order. He had previously been convicted on July 15, 2011, of assault causing bodily harm, involving a young adult female.

(Submitted | Winnipeg Police Service)

Charlette is subject to a lifetime weapons ban and multiple other conditions including not to consume, purchase or possess any drugs except those prescribed to him and taken as prescribed. He is also banned from consuming, purchasing or possessing alcohol or to go to any business or event that primarily sells alcohol.

Charlette is also subject to a curfew from 9:00 pm until 7:0 am daily and must live in an approved residence

Charlette is considered a high risk to re-offend in a sexual/violent manner against all people, particularly children and adult females.
