Sexual exploitation charges laid in massage parlour investigation

Winnipeg Police Counter Exploitation Unit have arrested and charged two people connected to a massage business after allegations of sexual exploitation were brought forward.

Police began an investigation into the allegations in mid-December 2019 and spoke to past and current employees. Based on the evidence obtained through the investigation officers obtained a search warrant.

On January 28, 2020, the search warrant was executed and a 48-year-old male and a 41-year-old female were taken into custody.

The male has been charged for his alleged involvement with three counts of Material Benefit from Sexual Services, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 and four counts of Procuring Person to Provide Sexual Services.

The accused female is facing charges for her alleged involvement of Advertising Sexual Services, Assault, three counts of Material Benefit from Sexual Services, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 and four counts of Procuring Person to Provide Sexual Services
