SEXUAL ASSAULT | TWO MEN BUSTED IN SERIOUS SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE

Just after midnight on September 16, 2016 Winnipeg Police were called to a hotel in the 1700 block of Wellington Avenue for the report of a serious sexual assault.

As officers arrived they noticed a man, aged 29,  getting into a stolen vehicle. He was taken into custody.

Another suspect jumped into a second stolen vehicle and while attempting to flee from police rammed into a police patrol unit then smashed into a parked vehicle. Un able to drive further the suspect took off on foot.

Police caught up to the suspect about a half hour later in the 1300 block of McDermot and took the 33 year old male into custody.
         
Police investigated and found that a group were partying in a hotel room and drinking alcohol. A dispute erupted at which time the two male suspects began assaulting an 18 year old female, a shotgun was produced and the victim was threatened. A serious sexual assault occurred.
   
Tristan PROVINCIANO, 29 years has been charged with Sexual Assault, Robbery including several weapon related offences (15 in total) due to his alleged involvement.
   
Danny MORGADO, 33 years has been charged with Sexual Assault, Robbery, Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Forcible Confinement including several weapon related offences (20 in total) due to his alleged involvement.
   
Both males were remanded into custody.
