A 36-year-old male is in custody in connection a serious sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl on Monday March 21, 2022.

Investigators from the Child Abuse Unit said that the victim had been at a Portage Avenue bus shelter when a male began talking to her. The youth agreed to walk with the male and she was taken to a building stairwell in the Exchange District where she was seriously sexually assaulted.
Police and Cadets were given a description of the suspect and just before 2:30 pm on Wednesday, March 23 he was spotted. Cadets on patrol in the downtown area located the suspect and called in officers to help with the arrest.
Johnny Walter Donald Garson has been charged for his alleged involvement with Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference.
He was detained in custody.
