SEXUAL ASSAULT | POLICE NEED HELP IN IDENTIFYING SUSPECT IN SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE

Around 2 pm on May 7, 2016 police report that a vulnerable female, age 47, met a male in the 600 block of Westminster Ave. She invited him to her home and the pair drank non-alcoholic beverages.

While at the victims home the suspect began to inappropriately touch the victim and that eventually escalated into a serious sexual assault.

Since the sexual assault the suspect has had no further contact with the victim.
   
The Winnipeg Police Service was told about the incident and members of the Sex Crimes Unit have been actively involved. This has consisted of processing evidence and on-going efforts to identify the male suspect.
   
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect

He is described as: Caucasian male, 34 years old, 5’10” – 5’11” tall, 175 pounds, scruffy facial hair and a tattoo on the back of his neck (bars or numbers). 

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Detectives at 204-986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
