During the summer of 2002 a male had regular contact with a young child. The victim was allegedly sexually assaulted on numerous occasions during this period of time.
On June 23, 2106 the victim reported these occurrences to police. Members of the Sex Crimes Unit initiated an investigation.
On July 6, 2016 detectives arrested a 54-year-old male from Winnipeg and charged him with the following offences;
- Sexual Assault
- Sexual Exploitation
- Sexual Interference
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear.
