The Manitoba Integrated High-Risk Sex Offender Unit (MIHRSOU) has released a public advisory regarding the release of 42-year-old Winston George Thomas.
MIHRSOU says that Thomas will be released today, May 31, 2019 and will be residing in Winnipeg.
Thomas is a convicted sex offender who police believe is at high risk to re-offend in a sexual or sexually violent manner against all female no matter their age.
He was convicted of sexual assault in 2008 against a 13-year-old female and was sentenced to two years in jail. He has a history of several sexual assaults dating back to 2003.
Police say that Thomas in under supervised probation until December 13, 2020 but also is subject to a lifetime weapons ban.
Thomas was born April 10, 1977, is 5’10” (178 cm), weighs 106.5 kg (234 lbs), has black hair, brown eyes, with a medium complexion.
Police warn that any vigilante activity or other unreasonable conduct directed at Thomas will not be tolerated.
