Police advise sex offender living in Winnipeg after release from prison

A high-risk sex offender was released from federal prison on Thursday, October 4, 2018, and is expected to live in Winnipeg say the Manitoba Integrated High-Risk Sex Offender Unit (MIHRSOU).

45-year-old Burton Randy Thomas was convicted in 2010 and designated a Long Term Offender. He is subject to a ten-year supervision order and a life-long weapons ban.

Thomas has a history of sexual, violent and other offences. Police say that females are at risk of sexual violence as Thomas is considered a high-risk to re-offend in a sexual manner.

If you have information about Thomas, please call the Manitoba Integrated High-Risk Sex Offender Unit at (204) 984-1888. You may also contact the Winnipeg Police Service at (204) 986-6222, your local RCMP Detachment, or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-8477 or toll-free at 1-800-222-8477.
