Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the City of Winnipeg and most of southern Manitoba as conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms today.
The national forecaster says that the storms may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.
Thunderstorms are expected to begin later today ahead of a weak low pressure system that is moving into the province.
