Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Winnipeg

UPDATED

Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Winnipeg at 9:29 pm Wednesday, June 17, 2020.

The line of severe thunderstorms is capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.

The warning ended a little more than thirty minutes after it was implemented for the City of Winnipeg.

The R.M. of Stuartburn including Zhoda Vita and Sundown and the R.M. of La Broquerie including Marchand remained under a severe thunderstorm warning as a line of storms coming up from North Dakota made their way east.
