Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to a three-storey, multi-family residence on Stella Avenue around 8: 40 am on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they were greeted with heavy smoke coming from the structure. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 9: 26 am.
Emergency crews used a ladder truck to rescue several occupants in the building from an upper-storey window.
Paramedics assessed five individuals but none required hospitalization.
The cause of the fire is under investigation
The city’s Emergency Social Services Unit were called in to help the displaced residents find alternate temporary accommodations.
