Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged seven people in connection to two different drug busts in the city on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.
Around 3:30 pm the Street Crime Unit stopped a vehicle on Sargent Avenue. As officers were involved in the traffic stop they noticed cannabis in the vehicle and placed the occupants un custody.
Four men aged 35, 37, 38 and 47 are facing drug trafficking and weapons-related charges.
During a subsequent search of the vehicle officers found:
- 7 cell phones
- digital scale
- 3 baggies of Marihuana, weighing approximately 16 grams
- Approximately 2-grams baggie of meth
- Approximately $1300.00 in Canadian currency
- Several types of packaging material
- .177 calibre pellet gun – with the look and feel of a real revolver
- a plastic hockey mask
- zip ties
- black gloves
- 2 knives
The next day officers raided a home on Polson Avenue. Two people were arrested prior to the execution of the search warrant after police saw them leave the property.
An adult female and three children were inside the home at the time of the raid.
The search netted officers a variety of drugs including:
Approximately 14grams of Cocaine
Approximately 270 grams of Marijuana
Approximately 30 grams of Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms)
Approximately 30 grams of Cannabis Oil
Approximately $3000 of cash
A 29-year-old male, a 26-year-old female and a 23-year-old male are facing possession and drug trafficking charges.
