Weapons seen at major fight
Seven people are facing charges including weapons offenses following reports of a brawl outside the Woodhaven Park Community Club on Glendale Blvd. early Saturday morning.
Police had been called to the club around one in the morning, responding to reports that about 100 youths were fighting and a shotgun had been seen.
Responding officers made a high-risk traffic stop of an SUV on the nearby St. James Bridge. Seven people in the vehicle were arrested and a search of the vehicle turned up a prohibited shotgun, two pellet guns and two cans of pepper spray inside.
A female youth, three male youths and three adult males face various charges including pointing a firearm, possessing a weapon, possessing an unauthorized firearm and careless use of a firearm. They were all detained in custody.
The three men are Charles KANIKI (18), Keanu OLIVEIRA (19) and Abdullahi MOHAMED (28).
No injuries were reported.
