Over the next 30 minutes paramedics searched the area, including nearby streets, looking for anyone who could have been in the vehicle. No one was located.

What caused the collision is not clear but based on the debris and the damage to the vehicle it was travelling fast when it left the roadway. The car rolled multiple times before coming to a stop.

Winnipeg Police say that the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was located in the area a short time later. He was arrested and charged with impaired driving.
