Shooting sends two people to hospital Sunday morning

UPDATED

Winnipeg Police responded to a serious incident around 12:30 Sunday morning on Redwood Avenue near Battery Street.

According to police several gunshots had been fired at the home

Members of the Tactical Support Unit, K-9 unit and multiple patrol units were focused on a property in the 1000 block.

Police had parts of the back lane cordoned off with tape and a patrol unit as the investigation unfolded.

Two people were transported to hospital by paramedics suffering from gunshot wounds. A 39-year-old male and a 40-year-old female were taken to hospital in stable condition.

The K-9 unit was seen searching the area for the better part of an hour.

Patrol officers went door to door asking neighbours if they had heard or seen anything surrounding the incident.
